Geneva won the last time they faced Master's Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Knights were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Eagles. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by ten runs or more this season.
Bella Ortiz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Ortiz was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ella Ingram was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Bastian, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Geneva always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Geneva pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Master's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva will venture away from home to challenge Winter Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Master's Academy, they will head out to square off against Tavares at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
