With a playoff win on the line, Bridge City rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They took down the Jarrell Cougars 58-43. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Bridge City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylee Britten out in front who posted nine points and four steals. Britten is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. Whitney Cunningham was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Jarrell's loss came despite strong showings from Aniya Taylor and Erica Taylor. Aniya scored 16 points and six rebounds, while Erica put up 16 points and four steals. That was a full 37.2% of Jarrell's points, marking the eighth time in a row Aniya has had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lamyre' Fitch, who earned five points.

Bridge City pushed their record up to 34-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points over those games. As for Jarrell, their defeat dropped their record down to 30-7.

Looking ahead, Bridge City will welcome Hamshire-Fannett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamshire-Fannett will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Bridge City surely won't give up without a fight. Jarrell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
