Softball Recap: Livingston Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mariposa County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Livingston). They were the clear victor by a 23-4 margin over the Mariposa County Grizzlies on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Costa was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Avila, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Livingston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Livingston and bumps their season record up to 3-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.5 runs. As for Mariposa County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Livingston and Ceres will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give Livingston their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Mariposa County, they will head out to square off against Denair at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Denair has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.43 runs per game on average), something Mariposa County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
