Basketball Recap: Midland Legacy Rebels vs. Permian Panthers

The Midland Legacy Rebels lost against the Permian Panthers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Midland Legacy was outmatched by the Panthers at home and fell 73-45. Midland Legacy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.

Despite the loss, Midland Legacy had strong showings from Diego Rodriguez, who scored 12 points along with three steals, and Cutter Clark, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Clark hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.

Midland Legacy dropped their record down to 13-15 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Permian, they have been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Midland Legacy will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Frenship's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups. As for Permian, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Midland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 568th, while the Panthers are ranked 162nd).
