Softball Recap: Brawley Comes Up Short

Brawley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Daniella Yescas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brawley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Denae Castaneda, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Brawley's record is now 14-10. As for Palo Verde Valley, their record now sits at 13-8.

While Brawley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
