Soccer Game Preview: Weddington vs. Cuthbertson + How To Watch

The Weddington Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Cuthbertson Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Weddington fought the good fight in their overtime match against Marvin Ridge on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, Weddington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Marvin Ridge are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Cuthbertson and Piedmont combined for 14 shots on goal on Wednesday, which explains the impressive five total goals scored. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 4-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Cuthbertson's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Weddington now has a losing record of 7-8-3. As for Cuthbertson, they moved to 8-6-1 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.
