Football Recap: Cushing Takes a Loss

Cushing played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Mt. Enterprise Wildcats and fell 52-8. The loss continues a trend for the Bearkats in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Kaegan Ash had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 237 yards and six touchdowns on only 11 carries for Mt. Enterprise. Ash's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 14th straight game with at least 136 rushing yards dating back to last season. Mt. Enterprise also got help from Aadin Alsup, who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.

Cushing's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Mt. Enterprise, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Cushing and Mt. Enterprise will both be playing Grapeland the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Sandies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bearkats will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
