Baseball Recap: Steele Comes Up Short

Steele's tournament run continued when they took on Medina Valley on Friday. The Knights fell 6-3 to the Panthers.

Maddox Cano was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Isaac Torres, who got three hits from his three at bats.

Steele's loss dropped their record down to 4-9-2. As for Medina Valley, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Steele will square off against East Central at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Medina Valley, they will challenge Eagle Pass at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.4, the Eagles 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
