Baseball Recap: West Hills Continues Road Dominance on Friday

West Hills had won four straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 12-10 to make it five. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Santana Sultans, sneaking past 3-1. The Wolf Pack have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sultans, too.

Carson-Kai Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, West Hills saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Kulak, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for Santana, they moved to 11-11 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 18, 2024.

On Santana's side, they got a good showing from Israel Sanchez, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Sanchez is becoming a predictor of the Sultans' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 4-2 (and 7-9 when he doesn't).

West Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against Santana: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
