Rossville had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Central Noble Cougars on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Avery Layton was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Layton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caydence Robey, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Rossville's record now sits at 24-5. As for Central Noble, they moved to 24-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Rossville nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
