Recap: Oasis Christian Lions vs. Frostproof Bulldogs
The Oasis Christian Lions had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Frostproof by a score of 35-27 on Wednesday.
Oasis Christian found their leader in underclassman Beka Ayers, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and eight steals. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Niyhana Tolbert, who scored two points along with ten steals.
Frostproof's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sanyqua Sloan, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Danica Loaiza was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Oasis Christian's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Frostproof, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oasis Christian will take on St. John Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully St. John Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 back in December of 2023. As for Frostproof, they will be playing at home against All Saints' Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
