Volleyball Recap: Black River Pirates vs. New London Wildcats        
        
		
             If Black River was riding high  fresh off their  3-0 takedown of Brookside last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Black River Pirates lost  3-0 to the New London Wildcats on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the  3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September of 2023.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18,  25-10.
 When it comes to explaining why Black River lost, don't look at  Remington Dieter. Despite the final result, she  had 19  digs and two  aces. That high mark didn't come from nowhere:  Dieter now  had 15 or more in the last five games she's  played dating back to last season.
 New London was led to victory by  Ava Ringler and  Hailie Pylant.  Ringler  had seven  digs, while  Pylant  had eight  digs.
 Black River's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for New London,  the  win snapped their losing streak at four games  and leaves them with a 5-8 record.
 Black River will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against Oberlin  at 6:30  p.m. Oberlin is coming into the  matchup with four straight  victories on the road,  so Black River will have to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum. As for New London, they will square off against Monroeville at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Monroeville will roll in looking for their  11th straight  win, something New London surely won't give up without a fight.
