After flying high against North Lamar last Friday, Whitesboro came back down to earth. The Whitesboro Bearcats fell 18-6 to the Bells Panthers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearcats of the 38-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Whitesboro's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Colt Fagan, who threw for 257 yards and a touchdown, and Brayden Bomar, who picked up 121 receiving yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards.

Bryson Thompson was nothing short of spectacular for Bells: he rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns. Thompson got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 66 yards. Bells also got a significant boost from Bryson Wright, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.

Whitesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bells, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Whitesboro will square off against Graham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bells, they will challenge Plainview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
