Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks vs. Montverde Academy Purple Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks and the Montverde Academy Purple Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Charter Academy has given up an average of 70 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cornerstone Charter Academy is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games last Friday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-54 heartbreaker at the hands of Lake Minneola. That's two games in a row now that the Ducks have lost by exactly four points.

Cornerstone Charter Academy might have lost, but man, Derick Augustin was a machine: he posted 28 points and five boards. Augustin's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston Infante, who put up four points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Montverde Academy Purple challenged Lake Minneola last Thursday. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks, sneaking past 50-47.

Cornerstone Charter Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Montverde Academy Purple, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
