Baseball Recap: Minerva Comes Up Short

Minerva lost against East Liverpool back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions fell 5-2 to the Potters. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly three runs.

Minerva saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Sivy, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That run marked the first that Sivy scored this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Minerva and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for East Liverpool, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Looking ahead, Minerva will be playing at home against Edison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Liverpool, they will square off against Harrison Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Potters surely won't give up without a fight.
