Basketball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

Hoover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 75-46 loss at the hands of the Santiago Sharks. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 636th, while the Sharks are ranked 146th).

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Santiago, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover will take on Patrick Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Santiago, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Corona at 7:00 p.m. Santiago is facing Corona at the right time seeing as Corona is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
