Basketball Recap: Westminster Christian Snags Ninth Victory in Last 11 Games

Westminster Christian waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Miramar Patriots by a score of 71-64. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Westminster Christian had a senior duo take command as Julian Crespo went 6 of 11 on his way to 25 points and Cooper Whitby went 5 for 9 en route to 18 points. The contest was Whitby's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Hendrikse, who posted six points and 12 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Miramar still got an impressive performance from Joshua Skinner, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Skinner a new career-high in steals (five). Martell Smith was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Westminster Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Miramar, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 12-5 record.

Westminster Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-35 win against Northeast on the 11th. Miramar has also already played their next contest, a 44-42 loss against Norland on the 14th.
