Football Recap: St. Bernard's Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for St. Bernard, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took down the Del Norte Warriors 35-21 on Saturday. The Crusaders pushed the score to 35-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

St. Bernard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenten Hagler, who threw for 293 yards and four TDs. Those 293 passing yards gave Hagler a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kuron Devlin, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

St. Bernard's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Kohlton Hall was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He has been hot recently, having posted 1.5 or more sacks the last four times he's played.

St. Bernard's pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.6 points over those games. As for Del Norte, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

St. Bernard's will be playing at home against San Rafael at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Hagler and Lachlan Royston. Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
