Baseball Recap: Dr. Phillips Takes a Loss

Dr. Phillips came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs, falling 15-5.

Jose Diaz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Diego Diaz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Dr. Phillips now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dr. Phillips will take on Lake Minneola at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Fayetteville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Mount Dora Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
