Hill Country Christian is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Bishop Reicher Catholic on Tuesday, but Bishop Reicher Catholic came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 victory over the Cougars. Those 13 runs were actually the fewest the Rams have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

S Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, S Barrett was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. A Ormand was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Hill Country Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Hill Country Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Bishop Reicher Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hill Country Christian will venture away from home to square off against Brentwood Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Reicher Catholic, they will face off against San Marcos Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
