Baseball Recap: Arcata Tigers vs. Eureka Loggers

Arcata extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 6-15. They came up short against the Eureka Loggers, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Loggers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-4 loss on Saturday.

As for Eureka, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-6. Considering they have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Eureka's part, Brayden Bermers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bermers was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ty Crawford was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Levitt, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Coincidentally, Arcata and Eureka will both be playing Fortuna the next time they take the field. The Loggers will head out to face the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
