Preview: Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers vs. Bassick Lions
Bridgeport Central is 1-9 against Bassick since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers will get right back to it and host the Bassick Lions at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Bridgeport Central suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. Their rough 67-44 loss to Trumbull might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Bridgeport Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Trumbull is ranked 14th).
Meanwhile, Bassick pushed their score all the way to 60 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Amistad 66-60.
Bridgeport Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Bassick, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Bridgeport Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Bassick in their previous matchup on January 3rd, sneaking past 66-64. Will Bridgeport Central repeat their success, or does Bassick have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
