Baseball Recap: Edwards County Triumphs

Edwards County won the last time they faced Cisne and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Runnin' Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Edwards County's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drew Roosevelt, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Roosevelt a new career-high. Dylan Prather was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Edwards County's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Cisne, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edwards County will welcome Mt. Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Golden Aces have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Cisne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brownstown/St. Elmo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
