Football Game Preview: Casey-Westfield Warriors vs. Mt. Carmel Golden Aces

The Casey-Westfield Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Casey-Westfield will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

On Friday, Casey-Westfield didn't have too much trouble with Marshall as they won 50-34. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 42-26 to Richland County.

Despite the defeat, Mt. Carmel saw an underclassman step up: sophomore River Deisher rushed for 123 yards and one score, and also threw for 74 yards and one touchdown. Deisher's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 120 rushing yards. Elliott Acree was another key player, gaining 85 total yards and a touchdown.

Mt. Carmel's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Casey-Westfield, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Everything came up roses for Casey-Westfield against Mt. Carmel in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 50-14 victory. In that matchup, the Warriors amassed a halftime lead of 31-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
