Volleyball Recap: Georgetown's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Georgetown had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Plano East Panthers.

Georgetown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Georgetown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Pitkethley, who had 19 digs and three aces. Those 19 digs gave Pitkethley a new career-high. Sailor Rulmyr also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Georgetown's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Plano East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.

Georgetown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Dawson on the 28th. As for Plano East, they will take on Cedar Park in a tournament on Friday.
