Basketball Recap: Beckam Rees' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Syracuse over Highland

Syracuse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 74-62 to the Highland Rams. The Titans were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in December of 2017.

Syracuse's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beckam Rees, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradlee Trejo, who posted 11 points.

Highland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Anderton, who went 9 of 12 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Anderton a new career-high. Bodie Dodge was another key player, putting up 16 points and six rebounds.

Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Highland, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Syracuse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-55 defeat against Olympus on the 14th. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-54 loss against Davis on the 14th.
