Baseball Recap: South Newton Takes a Loss

South Newton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 18 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They came up short against the Tri-County Cavaliers, falling 17-0. The Rebels were not able to make up for their loss to the Cavaliers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Tri-County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by nine runs or more this season.

For Tri-County's part, Tyler Burns was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Burns has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Luke Arvin, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

While South Newton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
