Soccer Game Preview: Temecula Valley vs. Great Oak

The Temecula Valley Golden Bears will venture away from home to square off against the Great Oak Wolfpack at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

If Great Oak heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Temecula Valley took over last week. Everything went Temecula Valley's way against Murrieta Mesa on Wednesday as Temecula Valley made off with a 4-1 win. That's two games straight that the Golden Bears have won by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, Great Oak's match on Wednesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They never let Chaparral onto the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The result kept the Wolfpack happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 13, 2024.

They hit Chaparral with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alejandro Colina (2), Jeremiah Yolemi, Nico Powell, and Joshua Yolemi.

Great Oak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-1-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those eight contests. As for Temecula Valley, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6.

Temecula Valley came up short against Great Oak when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 4-2. Can Temecula Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
