Baseball Game Preview: Brazosport Christian Eagles vs. Baytown Christian Bulldogs

The Brazosport Christian Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Baytown Christian Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Baytown Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Brazosport Christian, who comes in off a win.

Brazosport Christian's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Legacy Christian Academy. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Hayden Blagg made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Brazosport Christian's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 5-9 when he doesn't). Blagg was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Brazosport Christian got a massive performance out of Carsten Eddlemon, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Eddlemon has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caine Love, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and four RBI.

Brazosport Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legacy Christian Academy didn't got any hits.

Meanwhile, Baytown Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Brazosport Christian, falling 11-1.

Baytown Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Brazosport Christian, their record is now 7-10.

Everything went Brazosport Christian's way against Baytown Christian in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Brazosport Christian made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
