            Baseball Preview: Fremd Vikings vs. Mundelein Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            Fremd is 0-7 against Mundelein since May of 2017 but things could change  on Saturday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to  square off against the Mustangs  at 10:00  a.m. Fremd is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Fremd not only won  on Friday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 21st (when they won  12-0). Everything went their way against Wheeling as they made off with  a  13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven games by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
Meanwhile, Mundelein owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with  a   3-0  victory over Vernon Hills.
Mundelein got a great performance from  Logan Young as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits over six innings pitched. Young has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Mundelein saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Caden Earing, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double. Another  was  Jake Junia, who  got on base  in two of his three plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Fremd's win was  their ninth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 22-0-1. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mundelein, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-2 record  this season.
 Fremd came up short against Mundelein when the teams last played  back in April of 2024, falling  6-2. Can the Vikings avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
