Recap: Brewer Bears vs. Aledo Bearcats
There's no place like home for the Brewer Bears, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Aledo 50-31 on Friday. Given Brewer's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Aledo is ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Julian Perez, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The contest was his 24th in a row with at least ten points. Tyren Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and four steals.
Brewer pushed their record up to 19-5 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.62 points. As for Aledo, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Coincidentally, Brewer and Aledo will both be playing Azle the next time they take the court. Aledo will host Azle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Brewer will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
