After losing to Clearwater the last time they met, Sumner decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Sumner Stingrays pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over the Clearwater Tornadoes on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Stingrays who have now won three games in a row.

Karsten Walker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Bailey, who posted ten points.

Despite the loss, Clearwater still got an impressive performance from Kris Foote, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. Foote continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Keshawn Andrews, who had 11 points and six rebounds.

Sumner's record now sits at 8-2. As for Clearwater, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-1.

When Sumner and Clearwater next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Sumner will try to stop Norwayne's five-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sumner is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.1 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Clearwater will try to stop Cypress Creek's three-game winning streak when the meet at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
