Baseball Recap: Bishop Alemany Comes Up Short

Bishop Alemany extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 9-16 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chaminade Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warriors have suffered since March 21st.

Brody Thompson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Vincent Alfaro, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Chaminade, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-14. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Chaminade's side, the team relied heavily on Anthony Costa, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave Costa a new career-high. Cruz Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bishop Alemany beat Chaminade by a score of 5-1 on Friday.
