Baseball Game Preview: Logos Prep Academy Lions vs. Brazos Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Logos Prep Academy Lions challenge Brazos Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Logos Prep Academy is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Logos Prep Academy fell victim to St. Francis Episcopal and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Wolves, falling 10-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Logos Prep Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Tibbetts, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Tibbetts' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Brazos gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Giddings as Brazos made off with a 10-4 win. The Cougars not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24th.

The team relied heavily on Luke Polasek, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Brazos' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Brayden Krahn was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Brazos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

The victory got Brazos back to even at 5-5. As for Logos Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Logos Prep Academy suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Brazos in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Logos Prep Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
