Softball Game Preview: Sanger Indians vs. Sulphur Springs Wildcats

For the second straight game, Sanger will face off against Sulphur Springs. The Indians will take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sanger is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Sanger is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Sulphur Springs by a score of 6-2.

Leala Kloewer was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Chapmond, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run. Dalilah Millan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Sanger's win bumped their record up to 21-7-3. As for Sulphur Springs, they moved to 28-8 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.
