Northwest Webster put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 58-48 victory over the Eagle Grove Eagles. The 58-point effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Northwest Webster pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Eagle Grove, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Webster and Newell-Fonda will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Northwest Webster knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Newell-Fonda likes a good challenge. As for Eagle Grove, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Bend-Mallard at 7:45 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
