D.C. Everest hadn't done well against Wausau West recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The D.C. Everest Evergreens took down the Wausau West Warriors 56-41. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-44 back in January.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ayla Christensen, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Olivia Colwell was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

D.C. Everest's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Wausau West, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Coming up, D.C. Everest will look to defend their home court on February 14th against Merrill at 7:15 p.m. As for Wausau West, they will head out on the road to square off against Chippewa Falls at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Wausau West is facing Chippewa Falls at the right time seeing as Chippewa Falls is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
