Softball Recap: Payette Pirates vs. Fruitland Grizzlies
Payette extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fruitland Grizzlies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 on Monday.
H Collingwood was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. S Parsons also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
As for Fruitland, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games.
