Recap: Leander Lions vs. Hendrickson Hawks
The Leander Lions''s six-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 41-40 win over Hendrickson. The win was just what Leander needed coming off of a 72-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
Logan Mitchell went supernova for Leander, rushing for 82 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 244 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Zane Wooldridge was another key contributor, picking up 152 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Leander's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Hendrickson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leander will take on Cedar Park at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Cedar Park presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Leander in Texas (Cedar Park is ranked 170th, while Leander is ranked 686th). As for Hendrickson, they will be playing at home against East View on Friday. East View is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
