Soccer Game Preview: Grainger vs. Morristown-Hamblen West

The Grainger Grizzlies will square off against the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morristown-Hamblen West took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Grainger, who comes in off a win.

While Grainger's win against Union County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Grainger narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Union County 2-1. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Juan Vences was the driving force of Grainger's attack as he scored both of Grainger's goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Morristown-Hamblen West's offense. They fell 2-0 to Knoxville Central last Tuesday.

Grainger's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Grainger suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Morristown-Hamblen West when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Grainger avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
