Baseball Game Preview: Elizabeth Forward Warriors vs. West Mifflin Titans

For the second straight game, Elizabeth Forward will face off against West Mifflin. The Warriors will take on the Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Elizabeth Forward 3.9, West Mifflin 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Elizabeth Forward's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when West Mifflin hitters got past them. The Warriors fell 14-9 to the Titans on Monday. The Warriors have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

For West Mifflin's part, Braeden Andzelik and Chase Maggio did most of the damage at the plate: Andzelik went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Maggio got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Andzelik has posted since back in April of 2024. Cody Thornton also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory (which was West Mifflin's tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Elizabeth Forward, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
