The biggest upset of the week belonged to Willow Springs, who took down 107th ranked Salem, 32-0.
Mountain Grove extended the longest winning streak in South Central this week by beating Liberty, 27-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Panthers.
The Eagles' dynamic duo of Jaelon Acklin and James Denton proved tough for Mountain Grove to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Acklin threw for 155 yards and one touchdown and Denton had 58 yards receiving. Daniel French helped Liberty's passing attack out by catching six balls for 54 yards.
Gavin Bolin was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 91 yards as Richard Johnson's team lost to Richard Johnson's team. Tyler Collins also contributed to the rushing game with 82 yards on the ground.
On the ground, the Panthers' Collins has rushed for 813 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Broderick Davis. The Cabool star has 25 catches for 426 yards.
Next week's game between Darin Acklin's team and Cabool will feature a tantalizing aerial matchup as Acklin tests his arm against Austin Coen's defensive ability. Liberty's Acklin has recorded 792 yards and eight touchdowns this year, while the Bulldogs' Coen has three interceptions to his name.
The Bears moved up to 222 from 261 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in South Central. A 32-0 win over the Tigers helped Willow Springs improve its standing.
