Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orland). They blew past the Oroville Tigers 24-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Dottie Davis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-6 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gracie Cutshall was incredible, firing off two triples, three runs, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah McDermott, who went 1-for-4 with four runs and three RBI.
Orland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.
