Football Recap: Clinton Central Bulldogs vs. Eastern Comets
The matchup between Clinton Central and Eastern on Friday hardly resembled the 18-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bulldogs had to suffer through a 63-6 loss at the hands of the Comets. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Clinton Central still got an impressive performance from Amrin Barrett, who rushed for 96 yards and one score. Barrett also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass.
A big part of Eastern's win came down to the chemistry between Gibson Eagle and his top target Bentley Hullinger. Eagle threw for 163 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes while Hullinger gained 122 total yards and three touchdowns.
