Cortland takes loss despite strong efforts from Jaxson Gambitta and Owen Michales

Recap: Cortland Purple Tigers vs. Homer Trojans
The Cortland Purple Tigers suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Homer at home and fell 48-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cortland has scored all season.
Cortland's loss came despite strong showings from Owen Michales and Jaxson Gambitta. Michales scored six points along with two steals, while Gambitta scored three points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Michales grabbed two or more steals.
Cortland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Homer, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cortland will take on Chittenango at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Chittenango's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Cortland has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season. As for Homer, they will take on Westhill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westhill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 476 points over their last six matchups.
