Soccer Game Preview: Joshua vs. Burleson

The Joshua Owls will challenge the Burleson Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Joshua is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Joshua is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Everman a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Owls have won nine matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Burleson came up short against Centennial on Tuesday, falling 8-1. While losing is never fun, the Elks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Spartans are ranked 51st).

Joshua's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those six contests. As for Burleson, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9-1.

Joshua beat Burleson 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February. Does Joshua have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burleson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
