Heartland III recap October 8, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Heartland III this week, Southern Columbia Area beat Selinsgrove 54-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Tigers.
Bloomsburg moved up to 375 from 414 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers were able to move up by besting Muncy 27-8.
Bloomsburg's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ricky Klingerman threw for 185 and 2 touchdowns and Colby Klingerman had 98 yards receiving. On the ground Evan Ball chipped in 60 yards. Zach Ashford helped Bloomsburg's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 97 yards.
Klingerman put up the best numbers in passing as Mike Kogut's team defeated the Indians. Klingerman's favorite target this week was Klingerman, who caught 6 passes for 98 yards.
Bloomsburg's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Klingerman has thrown for 1,193 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Klingerman has 43 catches for 532 yards.
The Panthers' offense has racked up 195 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Southern Columbia Area has allowed only 82 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bloomsburg takes on the Tigers. At the moment, the Panthers are in fourth, while Southern Columbia Area is in first.
