Basketball Game Preview: Young Americans Christian Eagles vs. Dominion Christian Knights

Young Americans Christian hasn't had much luck against Dominion Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Young Americans Christian Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Dominion Christian Knights at 6:00 p.m. Young Americans Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Dominion Christian likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Young Americans Christian strolled past Covington Academy with points to spare, taking the game 65-50.

Young Americans Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Poole, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 boards. With that strong performance, Poole is now averaging an impressive 9.5 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Damian Crawford, who went 10 of 21 on his way to 24 points and three steals.

Young Americans Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dominion Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 61-12 win over Academe of the Oaks. The game marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Dominion Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. As for Young Americans Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Young Americans Christian came up short against Dominion Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 54-44. Thankfully for Young Americans Christian, Jaden Bates (who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals) won't be suiting up this time.
