Vanden came tearing into Thursday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Sacramento Dragons get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The Vikings' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matches.

Vanden's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sacramento, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11-1.

Coincidentally, Vanden and Sacramento will both be playing Rodriguez the next time they take the field. The Dragons will host the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Vikings will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
