Basketball Recap: Greenville Christian Takes a Loss

Greenville Christian saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rossville Christian Academy Wolves.

Rossville Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Zach Portwood went 6 for 11 on his way to 21 points in addition to six boards and three blocks and Fred Motley went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Motley has been hot, having posted 18 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolson Burks, who posted eight points.

Greenville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Rossville Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

Greenville Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Rossville Christian Academy, they and Terry will meet in a canine-themed contest at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
